The IMGA events are world’s most prestigious multi-sport events for mature athletes. The aim is to give the opportunity to Masters athletes to live a unique sporting experience that is normally only accessible for professional athletes. Over almost 15 years the IMGA has been organising the European Masters Games, the biggest European Masters multi-sport festival, with thousands of participating athletes in over 20 sports.
In 2023 the IMGA is raising the bar with an exciting new destination in Finland, Tampere that will bring together the ultimate mix of sporting and leisure experiences for mature sports enthusiasts around the world.
Tampere will become the center stage for international sports in 2023 when European Masters Games is organised for the first time in Finland. The fifth EMG will take place 26.6.-9.7.2023 with athletes competing for masters championships in 29 disciplines. EMG2023 offers athletes a chance to compete either at professional or amateur level.
The European Masters Games offer an opportunity for mature athletes to compete in their favourite sports, share the love for sports with like-minded people and discover new places. A true sports festival that celebrates friendship, passion and inspiration between sports people. And best of all – all the sports venues are close to the city center!
Event Square is a meeting place where you can get to know the atmosphere of the games with various activities, partners and program. Relax on the terrace and enjoy refreshments and snacks. The event area is entry-free, non-smoking and has no age limit. Kisatori connects event participants, city residents and other tourists.
