Passeig Olímpic and Passeig del Migdia will remain closed to traffic from 5 to 9 July, because of the Inline Alpine World Championships, which have been organised by the Royal Spanish Skating Federation.
The world’s best skaters will be competing at full speed along Passeig del Migdia for the Individual and Team Giant and Combined Slalom and Parallel Slalom. There is a deceleration area in Passeig Olímpic, turning upwards towards the Stadium.
The competition is on from Thursday, 6 to Sunday, 9 July, although the circuit’s assembly work requires the closing Passeig Olímpic and Passeig del Migdia to traffic, from the junction with Carrer de Can Valero, at 4 am on Wednesday. Access to the Cemetery (from behind) and to the nursery in Passeig del Migdia will be blocked, but there will be guaranteed access to the back of the Jardí Botànic, the Caseta del Migdia and the Pau Negre Municipal Sports Complex.
Training sessions and the official opening ceremony for the Inline Alpine World Championships will be held on Wednesday afternoon. Passeig Olímpic will reopen to traffic (4 pm), as will the entire upper part of Passeig del Migdia (7 pm), after the three-day competition has ended, on Sunday afternoon.
